Manchhar level down; Sehwan dykes under pressure
DADU: The water level at Manchhar Lake is on the decrease to 119RL with the protective embankments of Bhan Saeedabad and Sehwan under sustained water pressure, Geo News reported Wednesday.

Main Nara Valley Drain’s RD-67 is persistently being eroded for past four days now with work to buttress the bund are underway.

The lake’s water with over 25,000 cusecs is making its way into Indus River from a cut caused in Larkana-Sehwan Bund, causing the lake level to go down in degrees.

Bhan Saeedabad and Sehwan cities’ bunds are still under massive water pressure; however, the water level is receding here as well.

Meantime, at least 1800 houses in over 215 flooded villages in Tehsil Sehwan caved in.

Tehsil Juhi, surrounded by floodwater is still cut off even after the lapse of 32 days, triggering acute shortage of food in the area.

Khairpur Nathan Shah is thus far sunk under seven to eight feet of water.
