Colorado

Colorado is a landlocked state in the United States, located in the Mountain West region of the western part of the country. Known as the "Colorful Colorado," it became the 38th state to join the Union in August 1876.

From 1920 to 2004, Colorado primarily voted for the Republican Party. However, in recent years, the state has shifted towards the Democratic Party. This was evident in the 2020 presidential election, where Joe Biden won Colorado by a margin of 13.5%.

The Democrats achieved a double-digit margin in Colorado for the first time since 1964. In that year, Lyndon B. Johnson won the state by 23% over Barry Goldwater.

Colorado has experienced significant population growth, which has led to an increase in its electoral votes. The state had seven electoral votes in 1968 and reached 10 in 2024.
